Most review frameworks are built to produce content quickly and cover as many platforms as possible. Ours is built differently. We evaluate fewer platforms in more depth, and we apply a standard strict enough that a meaningful number of casinos do not pass it.

The criteria below explain what we look at, why each factor is weighted the way it is, and what it takes to earn a place in our recommendations.

Platform Legitimacy and Operator Background

Every evaluation begins with establishing the basics: who operates the platform, what license it holds, and whether the company behind it has a verifiable track record. Offshore casinos serving the US market operate under international licensing frameworks, and while these vary in rigor, complete opacity around ownership is a disqualifying factor.

We also research whether the operating company runs other platforms and what the reputation of those properties looks like. A casino’s corporate siblings often tell you more about its likely behavior than its own marketing does.

Payment Infrastructure and Withdrawal Reliability

We weight payment performance more heavily than any other single factor. A casino that pays out reliably and without unnecessary friction earns trust in a way that no bonus or game library can substitute for.

Our payment evaluation covers:

  • Which deposit and withdrawal methods are genuinely available to US players — not just listed but functional
  • Documented withdrawal processing times across different payment methods
  • Whether pending periods, rolling limits, or verification requirements create barriers to legitimate cashouts
  • Any pattern of payment complaints in player communities, forums, or dispute boards
  • How the platform handles large or unusual withdrawal requests

Bonus Design and Term Fairness

We approach bonus evaluation as a value analysis rather than a face-value comparison. A $1,000 welcome bonus and a $200 welcome bonus are not meaningfully different if the first requires 60x wagering across a narrow game selection and the second requires 25x with broad eligibility.

We assess every major promotion against the following:

  • The realistic probability of a player clearing wagering requirements under normal play conditions
  • Game contribution rates and whether the most popular titles count toward clearance
  • Stake restrictions and whether they limit natural play patterns
  • Cashout caps on bonus-derived winnings
  • How prominently the full terms are disclosed versus buried in footnotes

Game Library Depth and Provider Standards

We evaluate game selection not just for quantity but for quality and diversity. A library with five hundred slots from a single unaudited provider is less valuable than a smaller selection from certified, established studios.

Our game library assessment looks at:

  • The range of software providers and whether they include recognized, independently audited studios
  • Depth across categories including slots, table games, live dealer, and specialty formats
  • Whether RTP data is published and verifiable for key titles
  • Table game variant availability for players with specific preferences
  • Live dealer quality including stream stability and available betting limits

Mobile Usability and App Performance

Mobile access is not a secondary consideration in our reviews — it is evaluated as its own complete experience. We test platforms directly on mobile browsers and, where available, dedicated apps across both major operating systems.

We assess:

  • Navigation and account management on smaller screens
  • Deposit and withdrawal functionality without switching to desktop
  • Game load times and in-session performance on mobile connections
  • Whether the mobile experience offers the same features and game access as the desktop version

Customer Support Testing

We test support as a player would — by actually using it. We submit queries across different channels and time windows to evaluate real response performance rather than what a platform claims on its support page.

We measure response speed, the accuracy and usefulness of answers received, and whether agents are empowered to resolve common issues or simply redirect players to policy documents. Platforms where support consistently fails to resolve straightforward questions are rated down accordingly.

Independent Reputation Research

We actively monitor player feedback outside of platforms’ own testimonial sections. This includes independent review communities, gambling forums, and complaint aggregators. We look for recurring themes rather than isolated incidents, and we pay particular attention to how platforms respond when disputes are raised publicly.

A platform that handles complaints professionally and resolves disputes transparently gets credit for it. One that ignores, dismisses, or retaliates against player complaints does not.

Responsible Gambling Infrastructure

We verify the presence, accessibility, and functionality of responsible gambling tools on every platform we review. Tools that exist but require a support ticket to activate, or that are buried under multiple menu layers, do not meet our standard. These features should be available directly from account settings and easy to apply without friction.

How Ratings Change Over Time

A rating reflects a platform’s performance at the time of evaluation, but it is not a permanent assessment. We schedule structured re-evaluations of every listed platform and respond to significant incoming reports with ad hoc reviews when warranted. Ratings can move in either direction based on current evidence, and we publish updates transparently when they occur.
